Myofascia Release Workshop

  • Jiva Health 19A Wimbledon Bridge London, England, SW19 7NH United Kingdom (map)

Massage therapists may help relieve your stiffness, but for long-term results you need to learn how to move in a way that keeps your tissues healthy.

This workshop is all about teaching you how to navigate your own myofascial system — the connective tissue that binds your muscles into functional chains. We will study some of the chains, but this session is mostly about helping you FEEL the lines of tension in your body. Releasing these chains is different to stretching muscles; we want to facilitate elasticity and graceful glide, so we will explore specific qualities of movement.

To help you get to know your soft tissues, we’ll also experiment with some self-massage, empowering you to facilitate a flow of fluids through your body. This work is a great complement to any physical therapy you may be receiving, as it offers a heightened awareness of your embodied patterns.

All levels welcome, no yoga experience necessary. If injured, please email to see if this workshop is suitable for you and we will refer you to Eleanor to confirm.

Book through Jiva (option to join in Wimbledon studio or online).
