Yoga in Surbiton

Thursdays 12:45-1:45pm

Surbiton Hill Methodist Church, Ewell Rd, Surbiton, with Eleanor

This gentle, mindful class is designed for stress management and recovery. It aims to help you slow down, let go of tension, and move with ease.

Expect a slow pace and educational cueing that will help you get to know your body from the inside out, along with joint articulations that teach your body how to move efficiently.

 FAQs

  • I teach my own approach to somatic yoga, which is all about embodied mindfulness. We don’t make many ‘yoga shapes’, but rather explore movement concepts that help you slow down and attune to your body in the present moment.

As a remedia theraist, I also like to bring in functional movement concepts. I particularly educate about anatomy and mechanics, giving specific cues on joint articulations and embodied fascial release.

Nervous system regulation is a key component, making it ideal for stress and exercise recovery. With practice, this approach will start to rewire your neurological patterns so you can move and live with more ease.

  • No. Due to the gentle and mindful nature of these classes, they are very beginner friendly. However, if you’ve never done a mind-body practice, you may find it challenging to feel the subtleties of the cues I offer at first — this is completely normal and will come with consistent practice.
